Eliot Bicentennial Celebration

From August 7th to August 14th, Eliot will celebrate its 200th Anniversary. This week was chosen because it was near the week of the 100th, 150th and 175th year observances. The theme is “Homecoming – Eliot’s 200th Celebration”.

This is a time for all of us to join in the festivities and show off our town. Eliot was, is and we believe will always be a great place to live. We will have pictures, displays and open houses to see the old, the newer and the present.

We urge you to invite old friends and families to come back during this time. Fix up the yard and decorate the house; plant a garden, design a float for your organization, club or neighborhood. You may be a native, a new home owner or here for a visit; we all have reason to celebrate. NOW is the time, ELIOT is the place and AUGUST is fast approaching.

The week as planned so far is as follows:

Saturday, August 7th & 8th – Colonial Encampment at the Raitt Farm

Saturday Morning, August 7th – Parade from Main Street to the William Fogg Library
