The Eliot Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer.                                                                                                   
We have an excellent reputation with our residents. In order to maintain this trust, the candidate must be community-oriented, highly motivated, possess strong leadership skills, and have the utmost integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent with no criminal or extensive motor vehicle record. Must be at least 21 years of age or 20 with at least 60 college credits at the time of hire.

Graduates of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (MCJA), or out-of-state equivalent are strongly encouraged to apply.  Applicants must pass the MCJA physical agility test and ALERT exam and possess a valid driver’s license.  As a condition of employment must submit to an extensive background investigation, including psychological, polygraph, and medical examinations.

Candidates must be willing to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
